who we are

Self-help, in the truest sense of the word

No Panic (Sutton & Merton) is a small, local, peer-led group — not a clinical service. Here’s what that means, and how we came to be.

Self-help means mutual support provided by members of a group who share anxiety-based problems, and who have come together to pool their knowledge and experiences to help them find their own solutions.

We do not think in terms of curing people, but more in terms of people being helped to help themselves.

We aim to offer support for people experiencing anxiety, panic attacks and phobias by:

Started by someone who needed it too

Jean Bevan founded No Panic (Sutton & Merton) in 1997, after being told that no local support like this existed for people living with anxiety, panic attacks and phobias.

If you want a group like this to exist, start it yourself. So she did.

Jean passed away, but the group she built continues to support local people, carrying forward her belief that people can help each other through anxiety.
